FRANKLIN Memorial services for William Mather Bill Porter, 74, of Franklin are set for 4 p.m. Sunday at his home.
Asa Nickelson will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
Mr. Porter died Wednesday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple.
He was born in Troy, Texas, and lived in Franklin 36 years. He served in the U. S. Navy and attended Texas A&M University. He was retired from Texas Farm Products as a salesman. He was a member of the Patrick Lodge No. 359 in Franklin.
Survivors include two sons, James Michael Porter of Tucson, Ariz., and John W. Winn of Franklin; a sister, La Rita Draper of Katy; a grandson, three nieces and a nephew.

Virginia Sargeon Webber
HEARNE Services for Virginia Sargeon Webber of Hearne are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Progressive Baptist Church in Hearne.
The Revs. James Crawford and Delvin Atchison will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Chapel in Hearne.
Mrs. Webber died Tuesday in a Franklin nursing home.
She was born in Robertson County.
Survivors include five children, Erma Atchison, Charles Willie Webber and Doris Faye Webber, all of Hearne, Georgia Mae Webber Luckett of Texas City and John Arthur Webber of Los Angeles; a sister, Sammie Lee Sargeon of Hearne; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frank Joe Knapik

BREMOND Services for Frank Joe Knapik, 82, of Bremond are set for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bremond.
Burial will be in the church cemetery .
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Peiskee Funeral Home in Bremond.
Mr. Knapik died Friday in the Bremond Nursing Home.
He was a lifelong resident of Bremond and was retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company of America in Rockdale after 25 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Snider Knapik of Bremond; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Jim Penick of Bremond; two sons and daughters-in-law, Al Winky and Jean Knapik of Bremond and Raymond Yogi and Linda Knapik of Hearne; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

NAVASOTA Services for Ola Jean Osborne, 76, of Carlos are set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Angels at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
Burial will be in Forest Park Lawndale.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home in Navasota.
Mrs. Osborne died Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Texas and lived in Carlos for a year. She was a former longtime resident of Baytown. She was a sales clerk with Wal-Mart in Baytown.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Carolyn Kolbasinski of Carlos and Billy Wayne Whiteley of Baytown; a sister-in-law, Jessie Bryant of Baytown; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sanders died Thursday.
She lived in College Station for 43 years and was a retired teacher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in College Station.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sanders.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Tom and Sylvet Sanders of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Dr. June Mabry of The Woodlands and Jill Sanders of Louisville, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.

Services for Edwin Willis Shaar Sr., 86, of College Station were held Saturday at the A&M United Methodist Church in College Station.
The Rev. Jerry Neff of A&M United Methodist Church officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station.
Mr. Shaar died April 26 in Southwood Nursing Home.
He was born in Zion, Md., and was an art director.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ed Jr. and Linda Shaar of College Station and Gary and Lauren Shaar of Woodstock, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane R. and Bill Conway of Southling, Conn.; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Services for H.A. Hank Wigley Jr., 60, of North Zulch are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Zion Church in Kurten.
The Rev. Duane Dewald will officiate. Burial will be in Kurten Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan and from 10 a.m. to the time of the services Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Wigley died Friday in Ennis.
He was born in Clarksdale, Miss., and lived in the Bryan area since 1969. He served as a Naval intelligence officer during the Vietname War and was a member of VFW Post 4692 in Bryan. He was a member of the Tau Beta Phi engineering fraternity and taught engineering at Texas A&M University for 20 years. He was a founding member of Brazos Christian School and co-founder of Still Creek Boys Ranch and served as a mentor to Texas A&M students. He was a member of the Zion Church in Kurten.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Wigley of North Zulch; two sons, Clint Wigley of Reagan and Jeffrey Sheeler of Little Rock, Ark.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kristi and Ronnie Weithorn of Waco, Ann and Aaron Pruitt and Meri Wigley, all of North Zulch; his mother, Ann Wigley of Clarksdale, Miss.; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Diane Wigley of Jackson, Miss.; a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Bob Kincade of Greenville, Miss.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Denson died Saturday in Bryan.
He was born in Slocum, Texas, and lived in Hilltop Lakes for 25 years. He was retired after serving 10 years with the Texas Highway Patrol and 27 years with the Texas Rangers. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Denson of Hilltop Lakes; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ettabel and Bob Connell of College Station and Shirley Jean and Waylon Pierce of Richardson; a sister, Eva Williams of Monroe, La.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Caffey died Sunday in Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
He was born near the Salty community in Milam County and was a longtime resident of Rockdale. He was retired as a foreman at Alcoa in Rockdale and was also a rancher. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a founding member of the Rockdale Roping and Cutting Club and Rockdale Saddle Club.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Alford Caffey of Rockdale; two daughters, Vickie Caffey of Rockdale and Diane Caffey of Austin; a brother, Wayne Roberts of Rockdale; three sisters, Lottie Ray Skeeters of Houston, Sue Spillers and Barbara Springer, both of Rockdale; and a granddaughter.

Mr. Nelson died Sunday in Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
He was born in Mumford, Texas, and worked for CSC in Rockdale as a correctional officer.
Survivors include two sons, James Gregory Nelson Jr. and Marcus Jovon Nelson, both of Cameron; his mother, Leola Nelson of Hearne; two brothers, Roy Jones of Hearne and J.T. Jones Jr. of Houston; two sisters, Valentina Jones and Theresa Jones, both of Bryan; grandparents, James and Alma Seymore of Hearne; his companion, Mekeva Washington of Cameron; four aunts; an uncle; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Mrs. Thistlethwaite died Monday in the Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham.
She was born in Rices Landing, Pa., and was a homemaker. She was a former member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport for 44 years and served as past president of the WMU. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brenham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eli Thistlethwaite.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Aleta Thistlethwaite of Burton; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Preston Taylor of Houston; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Mex-Indian Training Center in Shreveport.

Mrs. Koester died Monday.
She was born in Perry, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Riesel. She was a homemaker, a farmer and a rancher. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, where she served on the building committee, taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, John H. Koester of Bryan and James H. and Ruth Koester of Riesel; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Netzley died Sunday in Bryan.
She was born in Shepherd. She was a member of the Coe Church of Christ and a 60-year member of the Eastern Star Coe Chapter #98 of Shepherd. Mrs. Netzley was a Gold Key Volunteer with the Shepherd Food for Friends.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Chester Shoe and John Netzley.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Norbert Travis of Shepherd, Carolyn and James Bahlke, all of Shepherd, Shirley and Robert Wineman of Bryan, and Fay and Leonard Simison of Alma, Mich.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Raynold and Maureen Shoe of Sunrise, Fla., Gerald and Joann Netzley of Bradenton, Fla., and Gordon and Lynette Netzley of Shepherd; a sister-in-law, Mildred Shoe of Alma; 24 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
