James Hubert Thompson
Retired Y-12 supervisor
James Hubert Thompson, 59, of Clinton, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Halls.
Mr. Thompson began employment with Union Carbide Nuclear Division in 1964 in the mailroom at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In 1970, he transferred to the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant as a senior parts programmer. From 1992 to 1995, he was general supervisor of maintenance at the Toxic Substances Control Act Incinerator at the Oak Ridge K-25 Site. When he retired from Lockheed Martin Energy Systems in November 1999, he was general supervisor of maintenance at Y-12.
After retiring, Mr. Thompson was employed as a charter bus driver with Clinton Bus Lines in Clinton and as a salesman with Fox of Oak Ridge.
He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and was baptized on March 8, 1959. He and his wife, Carol Sue Kuhaida Thompson, who survives him, were married at Calvary Baptist Church on Feb. 29, 1964.
Mr. Thompson served in the church's bus ministry, providing transportation for the Special Friends class members for many years. He also drove the bus for the church Youth Group and the Senior Adults.
Mr. Thompson was born in Loudon on Nov. 18, 1942, the son of William Franklin and Blanche Parker Thompson. His mother lives in Oak Ridge and his father is deceased.
In addition to his wife and his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Tresa Thompson Batson and her husband, Mark, of Powell, and Kara Thompson Allison and her husband, David, of Knoxville; and three granddaughters, Claire Allison, Emma Batson and Jamie Batson.
Mr. Thompson is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jerry Kuhaida and his wife, Delores, of Oak Ridge; his sister-in-law, Mary Lowery and her husband, Eugene, of Walterboro, S.C.; a niece, Carrie Kuhaida of Oak Ridge; and three nephews, Kevin Kuhaida of Oak Ridge, Capt. Steve Kuhaida of Germany, and Matt Craft of Newark, Del.; his uncle, J.C. Parker Sr. of Oak Ridge; his aunt, Faye Yelton of Greenback; and several cousins.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Jan. 7, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve McDonald officiating.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Norman Davis, Charles Gaddis, Buddy Holly, Jim Maupin, James Montague, Dwight Morrow, Larry Palmer, Jim Parker and Ron Rhea.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Building Fund or the Jodi Gouge Mission Fund at Calvary Baptist Church, 163 N. Jefferson Circle, Oak Ridge, TN 37830; or to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018-4110.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the church.

Dean E. Jones
Retired truck driver
Dean E. Jones, 71, of Oliver Springs, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1930 in Ajax, Ky., he was the son of Raymond and Hazel Jones, who are deceased.
He retired in 1983 as a coal truck driver for Walls & Coker and for Waco Trucking.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Christine Montgomery Jones; three daughters, Teri Jones and Tammy Tinker and her husband, Donnie, all of Oliver Springs, and Linda Inman and her husband, Tom, of Harriman; and a grandson he considered special, John Tinker of Oliver Springs.
He is also survived by five brothers, Don Jones, Laverne Jones, Paul Jones and L.C. Jones, all of Oliver Springs, and Harold Jones of Detroit, Mich.; and two sisters, Opal Dillard and Jenny Lou Weathers, both of Georgia.
Ed Aslinger, Louie Bowling, Bill Lively and Gene Seiber were among his many special friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his son, Dean E. Jones Jr.; two sisters, Sue Jones and Lois Duncan; and a brother, Eugene Jones.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Oliver Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Shannon Walls officiating.

Millard James Gibson
Retired K-25 electrical supervisor
Millard James Gibson, 82, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Born Feb. 12, 1920, in Watawga, Tenn., he was the son of William Andrew and Marie Stevens Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and bowler who, in the 1980s, created the largest senior bowling league in Tennessee.
He was also involved in family activities. His family described him as a wonderful husband and father.
Mr. Gibson came to Oak Ridge in 1945. He worked for Union Carbide Nuclear Division at the Oak Ridge K-25 Site and retired in 1981 as an electrical supervisor. Following his retirement, he and his wife of 62 years, Grace Gibson, who survives him, traveled extensively.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gibson is survived by a daughter, Judy Gibson Cochran and her husband, William L. Cochran Sr., of Oak Ridge; a grandson, William L. Cochran Jr. of Oak Ridge; a granddaughter, Wendy Cochran Schubert and her husband, Michael, of Kingston; and several sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Judith Ann Adcock
Honored for her nursing achievements
Judith Ann Adcock, a resident of Coalfield, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Born Feb. 15, 1939, in Wellingborough, England, she was the daughter of Phillip Gordon Leeson and Winifred Rhoda Leeson, both now deceased. She had lived in the United States since 1959, living in Arkansas and then moving to Coalfield in 1986.
A licensed practical nurse, Mrs. Adcock worked as a charge nurse in the newborn nursery of Rebsamen Hospital in Jacksonville, Ark. In 1983, she received the Dr. Frist Outstanding Nursing Performance Award for her advanced skills and talents.
Mrs. Adcock is survived by her husband, Marris Adcock; three daughters, Sherrie Kneebone and her husband, Greg, of San Jose, Calif., Cindy Carney and her husband, Dana, of Little Rock, Ark., and Teresa Horn and her husband, Robert, of Monticello, Ark.; a son, Rick Adcock of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Heather Jones and her husband, Kevin, of Herber Springs, Ark., Michael Sadler of Jacksonville, Fla., Billy Rose of Cullman, Ala., and Ashley Horn and Bethannee Horn, both of Monticello, Ark.; and two sisters, Deanne Walters of Sneads, Fla., and Renelta Hall of Rushden, England.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Garvan Walls officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
William F. Boudreau
Former longtime resident
William F. Boudreau, 86, died Jan. 2, 2001, in Mesa, Ariz., where he had lived for the past three years. He had been a longtime resident of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Boudreau was born in Columbus, Ohio, and spent much of his youth in Geneva, Switzerland, where his father headed the Health Division of the League of Nations, now known as the World Health Organization.
He received his undergraduate degree from Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, Ohio, and his master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass. In 1943, Mr. Boudreau began working at Columbia University in New York City, in the Division of War Research (Manhattan Project). In 1946, he and his family moved to Oak Ridge.
He worked for Union Carbide Nuclear Division in a variety of engineering positions. In 1963, he left Oak Ridge for York, Pa., to become vice president for the Automotive Compressive Development Department at the York Division of Borg-Warner. In 1975, he returned to Oak Ridge to work in the Nuclear Division of Union Carbide. He lived at 102 Norman Lane.
While in Oak Ridge, Mr. Boudreau and his wife, Eleanor, who is now deceased, participated in many activities, including both square and folk dancing. He was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club and actively supported and participated in the Oak Ridge Community Playhouse and the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association.
He was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church. In later years, his family said he worked with several organizations concerning peaceful uses only for atomic energy.
He is survived by his daughter, Penelope Garrett of Wilmette, Ill.; his grandsons, Greg Garrett of Arlington, Va., and Tim Garrett of Mesa; and three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Patrick and Alex Garrett, all of Mesa.
In addition to his wife, another daughter, Nancy, died earlier.
A memorial service will be held in Oak Ridge at a later date.

Howard Juan Rash Jr.
Former Oak Ridge resident
Howard Juan Rash Jr., 58, of Frankfort, Ky., died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Rash was born March 4, 1942, in Wytheville, Va. He was the son of Mary Wright and Howard Rash Sr. of Oak Ridge, who survive him. He was a 1960 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and lettered in baseball.
He had also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Rash loved horses and had lived in Frankfort for the past seven years. He was the assistant horse trainer at Fawn Leap Farms in Frankfort.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Clinton Duane Rash and his wife, Terry, of Oak Ridge; his sister, Barbara Jean Fowler and her husband, Joe, of Barnesville, Ga.; his grandsons, Eric, Jarred and Bradley Rash of Oak Ridge; and his nephew and nieces, Jeff Fowler, Jodi Henderson and Jacquelyn Fowler, all of the Atlanta, Ga., area.
Shirley Housley of Frankfort was considered a special friend.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Jan. 7, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Charles Mattson officiating.
