Robert A. Cade
WEST - Robert A. Cade, 78, a railroad electrician, died Saturday, July 24, 1999, of respiratory failure at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.
Services were held Sunday at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Durant with the Rev. Gene Richardson and the Rev. H.C. Adams officiating and interment in Brister cemetery in Holmes County.
Mr. Cade was a member of Vernon Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was an electrician with Illinois Central Railroad.
Pallbearers were Doug Green, Steven Green, David Green, Gene McCrory, Earl Gisher and Walter Fisher.
Mr. Cade was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Reynolds, in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Helen A. Cade of West; sons, Raymond Cade and Grady Cade, both of Madison, Frank R. Cade of Hattiesburg and Wendell Cade of West; brothers, Eris L. "Sonny" Cade and Thomas Cade, both of West; sister, Celeste Truitt of Durant; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pauline Balcom Watts
MADISON - Mrs. Pauline Balcom Watts, 80, a retired executive secretary, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, of heart failure at St. Catherine's Village in Madison.
Services were held Tuesday at Magee City cemetery. Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Brandon handled arrangements.
A Berwick, Nova Scotia, Canada, native, Mrs. Watts had lived at St. Catherine's for seven years. Moving from Ocean Springs, she was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Madison, the Gulf Hills Garden Club and the Pascagoula Stitchery Guild.
She was a retired executive secretary with Thomas E. Wood Insurance Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. L.R. Watts, in 1990.
Her caretakers were her nephew and his wife, Charles and June Burnham of Brandon. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Ralph Miller
MADISON - Mr. Ralph Miller, 52, a self-employed farmer, died July 20, 1999, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.
Services were held Tuesday at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church in Greenville with the Rev. Neddie Winters officiating and interment in Delta Memorial Gardens in Greenville. Redmon Funeral Home of Greenville handled arrangements.
Formerly of Greenville, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother-in-law, Melvin Hampton.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel L. Carter-Miller of Madison; daughter, Cherise Passion Miller of Madison; parents, Homer and Johnny Miller of Greenville; brothers, Johnny Miller Jr. of Itta Bena and Ted Miller of Greenville; sisters, Florine M. Lewis of Lexington, Magnolia M. Hampton of Utica, Katherine M. Story of Cleveland, Millie R. Thomas of Memphis, Tenn., and Johnnye M. Breeland of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.
Charles Edmonson Jones, Jr.
JACKSON -- Dr. Charles Edmonson Jones, Jr., 65, a dentist, died May 23, 1999, of heart failure resulting from complications due to chronic lymphatic leukemia at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.
Services were held May 25 at Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson with interment in Lakewood Memorial cemetery.
A Jackson native, Mr. Jones was a Central High School graduate. He attended the University of Mississippi and Millsaps College before graduating from Loyola's School of Dentistry in New Orleans, La., in 1957. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order.
Dr. Jones was a practicing dentist in Jackson for 43 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he served as a board member and usher. He was an active Ducks Unlimited sponsor and longtime outdoorsman with a great love for duck hunting, those who knew him said. He was a member of the North Jackson Lions Club.
Friends said he was a loving father and husband whose loss will be felt by many.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Bellenger Jones; mother, Mrs. Edmonson Jones Sr.; children, Yancey Carolyn Jones of New Orleans, La., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edmonson Jones 3rd of Jackson, Brooke Ashley Burris of Birmingham, Ala., and Lindsey Jones Ziegler and three grandchildren, all of California.
Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
Walter Monroe Tullos, Jr.
RIDGELAND -- Walter Monroe Tullos, Jr., 76, a retired staff sergeant, died Saturday, May 22, 1999, from an aneurysm at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson.
Services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Ridgeland with interment in the Natchez Trace cemetery in Madison. Nowell-Flippin Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mr. Tullos was a native of Vaiden and a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeland. In 1965 he retired from the United States Air Force. He was a resident of Ridgeland for 27 years. Mr. Tullos ran the concession stand at the H. B. Wolcott Ballpark in Ridgeland for 15 years. He was active in Ridgeland Youth Baseball and enjoyed working with the children at the ballpark.
He was an avid fisherman and spent many happy hours fishing with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; son, Bobby Tullos of Braxton; daughters, Dorothy Adams of Ocean Springs and Becky Jenkins of Gluckstadt; sister, Anna Lee Kelly of Chickasaw, Ala.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

John H. Proctor, Jr.
MERIDIAN -- John H. Proctor, Jr., 73, a retired FBI agent, died May 30, 1999, of heart failure at Queen City Nursing Home.
Services were held June 2 at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church in Meridian with the Rev. James Twiner officiating and interment in Forest Lawn cemetery. Barham Funeral Home of Meridian handled arrangements.
A Reform, Ala., native, Mr. Proctor was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Livingston University. He retired from the FBI in 1978 after serving 27 years and opened his own investigation agency and served as director of security for Great Southern National Bank.
He was a member of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church and served on the administrative board and as chairman of its board of trustees. He was a former member of the Meridian Rotary Club and American Legion Post 125.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Daniel Proctor.
Pallbearers were Mark Covington, Howard Neal, Robert Miles, Kenneth McIntyre, Jack Rucker and Don McElroy.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Randall Proctor of Meridian; son, John H. Proctor 3rd and wife, Glenda, of Madison; daughters, Pamela Bell and husband, Kenny, of Madison, and Patricia Benson and husband, Ken, of Meridian; six grandchildren, one step-grandson and sisters, Jean Anderson of Orlando, Fla., Margaret Blair of Knoxville, Tenn., Frances Hammond of Marion, Ala., and Carolyn Millman of Birmingham, Ala.
Joyce Moon Jones
MADISON -- Joyce Moon Jones, 61, a homemaker, died of cancer Friday, June 4, 1999, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Services were held Sunday, June 6, 1999, at Parkway Memorial cemetery in Madison. Mark E. Seepe Funeral Directors & Crematorium of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Memphis, Tenn., where she attended public school. She and her husband, Thomas Jones, were longtime residents of Jackson and had also lived in Kingwood, Texas, and Ft. Myers, Fla. Mrs. Jones was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Jones of Madison; son, Gary Martin of Madison County; step-daughters, Kim Gonzales of Birmingham, Ala., and Kandye Porter of Jemsion, Ala.; step-sons, Skye Jones of Madison and Scott Jones of Ridgeland; and eight grandchildren.

Rose Marie "Bitty" Sneed
JACKSON -- Mrs. Rose Marie "Bitty" Sneed, 68, a retired mortgage company officer, died Sunday, June 13, 1999, of respiratory failure at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Services were held June 15 at St. James Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jerry McBride, Rev. Lura Kaval-Gargililo and Rev. Osborne Moyer officiating and interment in Lakewood Memorial Park. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home of Ridgeland handled arrangements.
A Tupelo native, Mrs. Sneed had lived in Jackson for more than 45 years. In 1989, she retired as an officer of Deposit Guaranty Mortgage Co. after 20 years of service. She was a member of James Episcopal Church.
Pallbearers were Jack Ritter, George Ritter, Ralph Walthall, Tom Sneed, Pat Sneed, Stanley Reedy, Bill Sneed and Roger Brook.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Price Sneed of Jackson; sons, James L. Sneed of Jackson and John Price Sneed and wife, Stacy, of Ridgeland; brother, Jack L. Ritter Sr. and wife, Judy, of Jackson; grandsons, William Price Sneed and Michael Sneed, both of Ridgeland; and 20 nieces and nephews.

Mai G. Cummings
RIDGELAND -- Mrs. Mai G. Cummings, 85, a former department store clerk, died Friday, June 18, 1999, of cancer at the Hospice Ministry in Ridgeland.
Services were at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Utica cemetery in Utica. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street handled arrangements.
A native of Utica, she moved to Jackson in 1947 and worked in the men's department of Kennington Co. until they closed in May 1970. She also worked at the Gayfer's Men's Department from July 1970 until she retired in February 1979. She had been a member of the Christian Church since early childhood.
She is survived by two nieces, one nephew, four great-nephews and two great-nieces.
Memorials may be made to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League.
Lillian Spain Salter
RIDGELAND -- Mrs. Lillian Spain Salter, 84, a former Shell Oil distributor, died Sunday, June 13, 1999, of heart failure at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Services were held June 16 at Winterlawn cemetery in Port Gibson with the Rev. David Brooks officiating. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home of Ridgeland handled arrangements.
A Pontotoc County native, Mrs. Salter moved to Shelby in 1916 and to Jackson in 1921. Her feather, James Manley Spain, was a well-known architect in Jackson. She attended Jackson Public Schools and graduated from Belhaven College. She was a member of Chi Delta Honorary Society.
Mrs. Salter taught Spanish at Belhaven College for a time and worked for Lamar Life Insurance Co. in Jackson for five years. She was working for the Naval Department in Washington, D.C., when Pearl Harbor was bombed. She was a former resident of Port Gibson, where she and her late husband, John William Salter, owned and operated Salter Oil Co.
She moved back to Jackson in 1987. She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Pallbearers were Bob Waddle, John Cupit, Mike Salter, Mace Turner, Manley Biggers and Charlie Story.
Survivors include her sons, John William Salter of Clinton and James A. Salter of St. Francesville, La.; daughters, Shirley Clark of Hermitage, Tenn., and Virginia Selden of Jackson; brother, James M. Spain of Jackson; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
