Mabel Nordby, 93, of St. James, formerly of Odin, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and continues one hour before services at the church.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Merle "Butch" and Ruth Ann of St. James; daughter, Loretta Mae Carlson of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Susan Garcia of Tucson, Ariz., Mark and Ruth Nordby of St. James, Beth and Kevin Dvorak of Andover; six great-grandchildren; sister, June Hanson of Odin; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Robert; sister, Hulda Lundquist; brothers, Palmer, Carl, Helmer, Harold and son-in-law, Jon Carlson.
She was born Feb. 3, 1907, to Lars and Inga (Hjelter) Larson in Odin. On Aug. 11, 1928, she married Lloyd Nordby in Odin at the Zion Lutheran Church. They lived in the Odin area where she worked for 17 years at the Odin Post Office as a postal clerk. Lloyd died Sept. 22, 1970. She then moved to St. James where she became a member of Augustana Lutheran Church. She was active in the Ladies Aid, sewing club. She served as organist at Zion Lutheran Church for more than 40 years.
Leonard Petersen, 57, of Tracy, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Veterans Administration Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Lamberton Community Center, with burial in the City Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by Andrew Petersen American Legion Post 41, Lamberton.
Visitation is 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday at Lamberton Community Center.
Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton, is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his mother, Lavonne and stepfather Dale Wenborg of Minneapolis; brother, Dan Wenborg of Minneapolis; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold; and his grandparents.
He was born March 3, 1943, in Springfield, to Arnold and Lavonne (Reisen) Petersen. He attended Lamberton and Walnut Grove Schools. He served with the U.S. Army Paratroopers--82nd Airborne Division from 1961 until 1964 as a medical corpsman. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Inhalation Therapy. He worked at the U.C.L.A. Medical Center and Harbor General Hospital. He returned to Minnesota in 1972 to work at Redwood Falls Hospital. In 1985 he moved to New Mexico, returning to Tracy in 1991. He was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, Lamberton.
Viola Wilber, 85, of Arlington, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Arlington Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
Services were held Sunday, June 4 at Marantha Fellowship of Arlington.
She is survived by daughters, Gerry and Lance Dailey of Crystal Lake, Ill.; Kay and Vince Danielson of Arlington; Susan Peterson of St. Paul and Mary and David Bentley of Walnut Creek, Calif.; sisters, Josephine Peters of White Bear Lake and Pearl Worre of Newman Grove, Neb.; brother, Will Jass and Ethel of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Mel Jass.
She was born Dec. 23, 1914, in St. Paul to Frederick and Ottilie (Lindemann) Jass. She married William Wilber on Nov. 14, 1936. She earned her teaching degree from Mankato State University. She taught at Vernon Center and Roseville. The couple moved to Mesa, Ariz. in the 1970s, then to Arlington in 1989. She lived in Gaylord after her husband died in 1992. She belonged to the Gaylord Assembly of God, Arlington Maranatha Fellowship and participated in Bible study programs.

William J. Senger, 78, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Clements, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Wood Dale Nursing Home, Redwood Falls.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Redwood Falls, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Clements. Full military honors will be performed by Clements American Legion.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Redwood Valley Funeral Home, Redwood Falls, and will continue 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. There will be no visitation at the church. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Rebecca and husband Larry Wadsworth of Hancock, Dean Senger of Clements, Patricia and husband Gary Ellingson of Maple Grove, Mark Senger of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Joleen and husband Duane Erickson of Lamberton; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Albert of Wabasso, George of St. Cloud, and Edward of Redwood Falls; and sisters, Sister Marcienne of Cann, France, and Othilia Soukup of St. Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Otto, Leonard, and John; sisters, Mary and Margaret; and granddaughter Amanda Jo Erickson.
He was born Aug. 18, 1921, on the Senger homestead near Clements, to John and Frances (Wimmer) Senger. He attended country school. He served in the United States Army during World War II. After the service he returned to the Clements area. He married Rose Braunger on April 8, 1947, in Morgan. They farmed in the Clements area. In 1995 they moved into Redwood Falls. He was a member of the Catholic Aid, St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Disabled American Veterans of New Ulm, and the Clements American Legion, where he served as past commander.
Carl 'Bud' Eisenbacher, 75, of rural New Ulm died Monday, June 5, 2000 at New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with burial in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Thursday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home. St. Mary's Knights of Columbus Council 3134 of Sleepy Eye will pray the rosary at 6 p.m., and there will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Eisenbacher of rural New Ulm; daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Jacob Monono of Mankato, and Susan Achman of New Ulm; son, David Eisenbacher of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Michael Achman and his wife Tricia of Winthrop, Timothy Achman of New Ulm, Miriam Monono, Solange Monono, and Betty Monono, all of Mankato; sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Byrne of Northfield, Ethel Alfeuby of Minneapolis, and Charlotte and Lester Thompson of Long Lake, and Agnes Volk of Apple Valley; and sisters-in-law, Vera Eisenbacher of New Ulm, and Donna Eisenbacher of Bovey.

He was born March 1, 1925, in Eden Township, Brown County, to Paul and Elsie (Koch) Eisenbacher. He attended school in Eden Township, Brown County, and Morgan Public School. On July 11, 1950, he married Kathleen Turbes at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. They farmed in rural Sleepy Eye for 10 years and in rural New Ulm for 40 years. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, St. Mary's Knights of Columbus Council 3134 in Sleepy Eye, and Farm Bureau.
James D. Janicke, 74, of Winthrop, died Monday, June 5, 2000, at Arlington Municipal Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop, with burial in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Moltke Township, Sibley County. Full military rites will be performed by Winthrop Honor Guard.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the church, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Kjalmer 'Jim' Finstad, 95, of rural St. James, died Monday, June 5, 2000 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, St. James.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Albion Lutheran Church, rural St. James, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 8-11 a.m. Thursday at Pease Funeral Home, St. James, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife Florence; sons, Dennis and wife Mary Ann of Jackson, Kenneth and wife Fay of Hayward, Wis., Richard and wife Becky of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Howard and wife Sharon of St. James; daughters, Phyllis Johnson and husband Larry of Alexandria, and Colleen Kibbon and husband Ron of Hampton, Neb.; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Oren and wife Mae of Grand Rapids; sister-in-law, Myrtle Finstad of New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and four sisters.
He was born Aug. 9, 1904, in Albin Township, Brown County, to John and Ingaborg (Enden) Finstad. He attended District 47 in Brown County, and Mankato Commercial College. He married Florence Beckius on April 25, 1936 in Springfield. They farmed in Albin Township. He was a member of Albion Lutheran Church, and served as a trustee. He also served on the rural school board. He moved to Valley View Nursing Home in 1999.
Edith Victoria Nagel-Eisinger, 89, of Long lake, died Monday, May 22, 2000, in Minneapolis
She was buried in New Ulm City Cemetery on June 3.
Rettinger Funeral Home, Long Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, Long Lake.
She is survived by sisters, Pearl, Myrtle, and Violet; and brother-in-law Earl Klindt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Nagel; husband Schley Eisinger; and sisters, Judith and Gladys.
She was born July 4, 1910, in Litchfield, to Sophia and A.G. Anderson. She and her husband Harold Nagel founded Waconia Hospital and Nursing Home. She was a nurse for over 50 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Women's Club of Minneapolis, and Lafayette Club.
MacKenzie Waibel, an infant, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000.
Services will be Thursday, time and date to be announced by Klein Funeral Home of St. Peter.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her parents, Dale and Melanie Waibel of Wells; brother, Timothy Dale; sister, Haley Waibel; grandparents, Mike and Marsha Tollefson of St. Peter; Gerald and Carol Waibel of Searles; great-grandparents Herbert and Irene Fischer and Helen Waibel; and a great-great-grandmother, Helen Syverson.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Raymond Waibel, Kenneth and June Tollefson, and Donovan and Margie Sillman.
She was born June 1, 2000, in Minneapolis.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice; daughters, Susan and husband Robley Henry of Kenyon, Sheryl Bauer and husband Bruce of Watertown, S.D.; sons, Roy of Raleigh, N.C., James and wife Kim of Winthrop; six grandchildren; brother, Glenn Jaenicke and wife Hattie of Buffalo Lake; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorraine Marquardt and Edrie Ruschmeyer.
He was born July 15, 1925, in Moltke Township, Sibley County, to Edward and Olive (Novotny) Janicke. He attended Buffalo Lake High School. He entered the U.S. Navy March 17, 1943. He served as a Navy corpsman nd later on the First Marine Division. He fought in the South Pacific Theater during WWII in campaigns in Pelelie and Okinawa. He received an honorable discharge in North China on March 21, 1946. He returned to Moltke Township, where he farmed. He married Eunice Sievert on May 26, 1956 in Moltke Township. He farmed until 1966, when they moved to Winthrop. He farmed for several more years, before going into insurance sales. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop, where he served on the church board. He was on the MVL Board and the Winthrop Clinic Board. He was a member of the Winthrop VFW Post 4078, the Gibbon American Legion Post 226 and the First Marine Division Association.
Lorraine Giersdorf, 71, of Walnut Grove. died Monday, June 5, 2000, at a nursing home in St. Paul of cancer.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove, with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Jacobson Funeral Home in Walnut Grove.
She is survived by her daughters, Lucinda (William) Keen of Mendota Heights, and LuAnn Vanella (Michael McMonigal) of West St. Paul; five grandchildren; brother, Darlow Foster of Walnut Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
She was born March 11, 1929, near Revere to Jessie (Johnson) and Vally Foster. She graduated from Walnut Grove High School. She married Ode Giersdorf on Nov. 14, 1950.
